Fire Chief

Chief Haverfield was raised in Granite Falls and joined the Fire District in January 1990 as a Junior at Granite Falls High School. After graduation in 1991 Jim attended Everett Community College and was employed as a butcher for a local market, Konnerups Grocery, until February 1994 when he was hired full-time with Fire District 17. Jim was promoted to Captain in 1999, to Deputy Chief in 2007 and appointed as Fire Chief in 2010. He enjoys time with family and being outdoors in the great Northwest. Chief Haverfield is also the designated District Secretary for the Board of Commissioners as required by RCW 52.14.080.

Administration 

Kim Macomber is a 3rd generation Granite Falls resident. She has 2 children with her husband of 30 years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking and tending to her family's horses.

Office Assistant 

Jeff Balentine has lived on Mountain Loop Highway in Granite Falls for the past decade. After graduating high school in Lacey, Washington, Jeff joined the Army. He was a Russian Voice Intercept Operator during the cold war and then trained soldiers and marines throughout the Afghan and Iraqi wars. Jeff has his bachelors in business management and over 30 years of experience in finance, operations, and human resources. He enjoys time with his family and loves to fish.
